"PROGROCK RECORDS TO RELEASE NEW DAVID MINASIAN ALBUM FEATURING GUEST APPEARANCE BY ANDREW LATIMER OF CAMEL"

Rancho Santa Margarita, CA – David Minasian has formally signed to the ProgRock Records label for the release of his new album titled Random Acts of Beauty which features legendary Camel guitarist Andrew Latimer on the 12 and a half minute epic opening track titled Masquerade. Shawn Gordon, President & CEO of Prog Rock Records, says: "I love those rare occasions when I get to discover an artist in my own backyard and we can get together and just talk about the music we love. Meeting David was a real treat for me, wonderful music and the guy is close friends with some of my own musical heroes, so I get to hear some cool stories as an extra bonus. We're really pleased to be adding David to our family."

David Minasian comments: "I'm really looking forward to my collaboration with Shawn Gordon and ProgRock Records. We both hope to get this album out in front of as many people as possible. Fans of classic seven Moody Blues, early to mid Genesis, Barclay James Harvest as a four piece, melodic Pink Floyd, early King Crimson and of course Camel should find a lot to like with this album. There's a definite emphasis on melody and dynamics not to mention lots of mellotron. In addition, the liberal use of harpsichord gives everything a bit of a medieval feel. And between the wonderful contributions of Andy Latimer and my 20 year old son Justin, lovers of soaring guitar leads are going to have a field day with this album.”

Joining David Minasian on keyboards (grand piano, mellotron, harpsichord, moog and orchestrations), acoustic 12 string guitar, bass and vocals, is Justin Minasian on electric lead and rhythm guitars and Guy Pettet on drums. "Random Acts of Beauty" is the new worldwide ProgRock Records release from David Minasian. The album will be released early August 2010 and available in stores on October 5, 2010 but is available for immediate pre-sale at a $2 discount.

July 12, 2010: The following press release came from Compact Disc Services in the UK:

This is one seriously hot Symphonic Prog CD that for CAMEL, MOODY BLUES, RENAISSANCE, and Symphonic Prog fans is an absolute MUST hear... It's a CD Services exclusive that will be delivered to us almost two months ahead of it's general release date - that's how good we feel about it, and we know you will too, once you hear it. I know it's the music that's going to seal this deal, so we have provided you with a link to the album creator's web-site, where you can listen to and enjoy some of the stunning music on this album.

DAVID MINASIAN: RANDOM ACTS OF BEAUTY (A Stunning Symphonic Prog Import featuring a guest appearance by Camel's Andy Latimer - Stock # 1335486) CD £13.99.

Now you all know how we only introduce you to the very best in new Symphonic Progressive Rock. Well here is one MAJOR example of exactly what we are all about, because if you're a symphonic prog fan, or even better still, a CAMEL, MOODY BLUES, early to mid GENESIS, YES, RENAISSANCE, BARCLAY JAMES HARVEST, STRAWBS, MIKE OLDFIELD, JETHRO TULL, melodic PINK FLOYD or early KING CRIMSON fan, then there is going to be a lot in this new CD for you to enjoy, I can assure you!

David Minasian has spent his career dividing his time between the worlds of music and film, because as well as being a huge fan of symphonic rock, he is a well known composer and video director who has penned hit songs for film and directed over sixty films and DVD's, including CAMEL's highly acclaimed concert DVD 'Coming Of Age'. David Minasian's lush keyboard orchestrations, soaring melodies and extended length compositions on 'Random Acts Of Beauty' are firmly rooted in the classically influenced Symphonic Prog-Rock tradition and heavily influenced by the sounds of his favourite bands. This album holds massive appeal to fans of classic CAMEL and similar music, and the fact that Andy Latimer - who hasn't done anything new since 2002 - appears on it, means a lot of CAMEL fans are extremely eager to hear this release.

There's a definite emphasis on melody and dynamics, not to mention lots of good old Mellotron sounds! In addition, the liberal use of harpsichord gives some parts a bit of a medieval feel, and between the wonderful contributions of CAMEL's Andy Latimer and David's 20-year old son Justin, lovers of soaring, melodic "singing" electric guitar leads are going to have a field day with this album. The full list of players is: David Minasian (vocals / keyboards / guitar / bass / drums / orchestrations), Justin Minasian (guitar), Guy Pettet (drums), with guest Andrew Latimer (guitar & vocals on the 12 minute opening track).

Apr. 8, 2010: The following article from writer Christian Aupetite appeared in the French progressive music magazine Big Bang.

DAVID MINASIAN: The name may not mean anything, but this will soon change. This American fan of progressive and symphonic rock will allow us to hear once again Andy Latimer (guitarist for Camel) who is recovering from a long period of illness. With a background in filmmaking (he directed music videos during the 80’s and has produced many of the DVD’s released by Camel – the latest, The Opening Farewell, is expected in May), David Minasian is also a keyboardist and is currently putting the finishing touches on an album called Random Acts Of Beauty which will see Andy's wonderful six string guitar (on a 13 minute epic). Justin Hayward of the Moody Blues was also asked to participate on vocals but ultimately was not able to be scheduled. So David Minasian will do the honors, and his son Justin will serve as guitarist on 6 other titles on the album (drummer Guy Pettet completes the line-up). The album is expected to be finished in May.
